The Dewey Mennonite Church, Dewey, Illinois, began in 1941 as a Sunday school extension of the East Bend Mennonite Church. On 12 February 1955, the congregation dedicated its first building. It became a separate congregation on 11 December 1955.

Dewey Mennonite Church withdrew from the Illinois Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church (MC) in 1996. It subsequently joined the Evangelical Mennonite Church (later Fellowship of Evangelical Churches) and changed its name to Dewey Community Church.

Dewey Community Church completed a major expansion in 2014.
