An Anabaptist fellowship met monthly for a number of years in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Specific planning for a new congregation began in December 1987 after several new Mennonite families moved to Madison. It organized as a congregation and installed its first pastor, J. Melvin Janzen, on 22 October 1989.
The congregation joined the Illinois Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church (MC) and the Central District Conference of the General Conference Mennonite Church in 1991.
The congregation sponsored the Madison Mennonite Voluntary Service Unit from 2009 to 2017.
Madison Mennonite Fellowship has met Sunday afternoons at the Orchard Park United Church of Christ.
In 2022 the congregation was part of the Central District Conference.
