The South Point Community Church began as an outreach from members of the Leamington Mennonite Brethren Church. It was led by Brad and Dianne Wilson; Brad had been a youth pastor at Leamington Mennonite Brethren for five years. The church targeted persons with no church background and persons who were disillusioned by traditional churches. In worship it used a multi-media approach, using videos, dramas, music and testimonies. It initially met at the Margaret D. Bennie Public School in Leamington. In 2003 it moved to the Mt. Carmel-Blytheswood Public School.
In 2015 a Baptist church that was reaching the end of its life turned its building over to South Point. A Christian elementary school also has use of the building.
