Jean Janson, grandson of [[Janson, Abraham (1754-1823)|Abraham Janson]], was a farmer in Harxheim, and was for nearly 25 years a member of the Palatine legislature at Speyer and 1881-86 a delegate to the Reichstag. His service to the cause of agriculture was recognized by Bismarck in a letter dated 18 January 1879 (found in <em>ML</em> II, 392).
