Carolus Niellius (Charles de Nielles) was a Reformed preacher in Antwerp in 1560, at Wesel in 1569-1598, and then in the Reformed congregations at Frankfurt and Hanau (to which congregation he dedicated his Consolation de la conscience troublée). He translated the confession of faith written by Obbe Philips into French and published it with a treatise on Jan Willems of Roermond. The book has the title Recognoissance d'Obbe Philippe, par laquelle luy et ceux qui ont enseigné et enseignent entre les anabaptistes . .
