The Westpark Chapel at Quesnel, British Columbia began as a Baptist mission in 1968 and was originally known as Sharon Baptist Mission after the sponsoring church, Sharon Missionary Baptist Church of North Long Beach Califonia. The church planting couple was Richard and Eleanor Andres. The mission organized as a church in 1972 at which time it changed its name to Landmark Baptist Church. Doctrinal differences with the American Baptist Association led to this group becoming non-denominational and it changed its name to Landmark Chapel, and later to Westpark Chapel. It remained so until 1981, when it affiliated with the British Columbia Conference of the Mennonite Brethren Churches. The congregation officially joined the denomination in 1982. Richard Andres was pastor until 1994, when the congregation closed.
