Willem Jansz, of Utrecht, Netherlands, a cloth shearer or cloth merchant, in early 1562 sold for six pennies a copy of the martyr book Offer des Heeren (first ed. 1562) to his fellow citizen Willem Willemz. Willem Jansz was a Mennonite; he and his wife Maria regularly attended the secret meetings of the small group of Mennonites at Utrecht. When a meeting was surprised by the officials in the spring of 1562, Willem Jansz was not present. Nothing more is heard about him.
