Maassluis, a town in the Dutch province of South Holland, about 10 miles (16 km) west of Rotterdam, where there was a Mennonite congregation in the 17th century, belonging to the Flemish branch. It was subsidized by the Rotterdam congregation in 1635; and at the delegates' meetings, both at Haarlem in 1649 and Leiden in 1660, it was reported to have a vacant pulpit. There was in the 17th century also a very small Waterlander congregation at Maassluis, of which however there is no further information. The Flemish congregation, which owned a simple meetinghouse, died out in 1691. In 1731 the neighboring church of Rotterdam received the sum of 183 guilders, which was the remnant of the possessions of the Maassluis Flemish congregation and administered until then by someone at Maassluis.
