It was found in [[Danzig (Poland)|Danzig]] both in the Flemish and Frisian congregations, from 1678 and 1685 respectively. As early as 1618 a Cornelius Sprungk is named, a farmer at Altebabke, West Prussia. Hans Sprung rented the "Schlossbrennerei" (distillery) at [[Tiegenhof (Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland)|Tiegenhof]] in 1664. Johan Peter Sprunck moved from Danzig to Königsberg in East Prussia in 1716. The following members of the family were living in Königsberg in the 18th century: Abraham Jansz, distiller; Bernhard (or Peter Bernhard), distiller; Heinrich, wholesale dealer; and Isaac. Wilhelm Sprunck (1795-1871) was the owner of the famous distillery "Bunte Bock" at Memel, East Prussia.
