Tjaert Tyercxz, of Dokkum, an Anabaptist martyr, beheaded on 8 February 1539, at Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands, with four other victims. Mellink's suggestion that he and his co-martyrs were revolutionary Anabaptists is without foundation.
