Pieter Hendriksz Veen, born 22 April 1804 at Sneek, died 19 February 1896 at Bovenknijpe, a member of the Veen family, was trained for the ministry at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary and served the congregations of Warns 1832-1837 and Bovenknijpe 1832-1877. He published De Doopsgezinden in Schoterland (Leeuwarden, 1869). His son was Hendrik Veen (1834-1904), a baker at Bolsward, whose son Pieter Veen (1867-1933) was a Mennonite pastor at Bovenknijpe 1893-1907, Middelburg 1907-1919, and Monnikendam 1919-1933.
