Valentin Weber, one of the Swiss Brethren to whom Pilgram Marpeck's Verantwortung was given for criticism. On 26 August 1559 he wrote a letter in Augsburg to Leupold Scharnschläger, the leader (Vorsteher) of the Grisons brotherhood, thanking him for all his trouble and effort in connection with Weber's epistle concerning the Judgment (Gericht). The rest of the letter deals with the joy and blessedness of being permitted to belong to the church of the elect and of being separated from the evil world.
