Montauerweide (formerly known as Pastwisko Montki, Pastwisko Przy Montowach, Montowskie Pastwisko, Muntauerweyde, Montauer Weide; now known as Mątowskie Pastwiska; coordinates: 53.847778 N, 18.934444 E [53° 50′ 52″ N, 18° 56′ 4″ E]; population in 1905, 254, in 1939, 364, in 2012, 200), is located 61 km (38 mi) south of the regional capital Gdańsk in the Marienburg Marsh near the Vistula, West Prussia. In 1730 it was rented in long-lease to a number of Dutch farmers; soon the majority of the inhabitants were Mennonites, belonging to the congregation of Zwanzigerweide, later Tragheimerweide. Among the names are Unrau (6), Stobbe (3), Penner (2), Sibert (2), Schultz (2), Harder, Claass, Tgart, Ewert, Harm, Pauls, Jantz, Nickel, Ediger, Frantz, Bartel, Woelms, Block, Baltzer.
