Jacob Klaasz (Klaese, Klaase) (d. February 1658), was elder of the Frisian congregation of West-Zaandam 1609-1658 and also served the Frisian congregation of Westzaan; in 1640 he had some difficulties at the conference of Frisian churches in North Holland because contrary to the conservative views of most Frisian congregations, he was willing to promote a union with the Flemish Mennonites, whom he esteemed as good Christians just as well as the Frisians.
