Pieter Gerritsz (Wageman), a Dutch Anabaptist martyr, a native of Enkhuizen, province of North Holland, was baptized before Christmas of 1534 by Lenaerdt Boeckbinder of Antwerp. He was seized at Zierikzee, Dutch province of Zeeland, together with Adriaen Jorisse of Brouwershaven, who was also baptized by Leenaert, Jan Jansz (baptized in 1535 by Damas Jacobs at Middelburg), and Janneke Melchior Simons of Den Briel (baptized in 1534 by Cornelis Pietersz wt den Briel). They did not believe in the miracle of the Mass. After severe torture they were beheaded early in the morning of 4 September 1536, the corpses burned, and the heads set on poles. Van Braght  names them Pieter Gerritsz, Pieter Jorisz, Pieter Leydekker, and Janneken Mels.
