Christiaan Nicolaas Wybrands (Wijbrans), born 24 March 1852 at Amsterdam, died there 16 August 1913, educated at the Amsterdam Mennonite seminary, served the congregations of Noordeind van Graft 1877-1878, Edam 1878-1881, IJlst 1881-1884, Westzaan-Zuid 1884-1886, and Enschede 1886-1898. In 1898 he retired because of his health. Particularly at Enschede he was very active. He was the promoter of the founding of the Mennonite congregation of Gronau, which formerly belonged to the Enschede congregation. Through his initiative the weak Zwolsche Fonds (fund for the pensioning of widows of Mennonite pastors) was united in 1897 with the Fonds tot Ondersteuning.
