Ridgeview Community Fellowship was the first church planted by Mission Calgary, a Key City Initiative church planting project of the Alberta and Canadian Mennonite Brethren conferences. Phil and Deb Wideman began their work as church planters in July 1999, and they were joined by associate pastor couple Elroy and Lynn Sennecker. In 2001 the church had 19 small groups and an average attendance of 200. The church joined the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches with 47 charter members in 2000.

On 24 February 2002 the congregation began meeting at the Silver City Theatre in Calgary after they outgrew the school in which they were meeting. Adults met in one of the larger theatres, and the children were divided up into two age groups and used some of the smaller theaters.

The church met for the last time in December 2007 after voting to close.
