Lemmer is a town in the Dutch province of Friesland, where Leenaert Bouwens in 1551-1554 baptized four persons and in 1563-1565, 22 more. There must have been a congregation there at that time, of which, however, nothing is known. In the 18th century it was still in existence, though very small in membership. In 1748 the few remaining members joined the neighboring congregation of Sloten.
