Martijnken (Martijntgen) Meere, an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, was burnt at the stake on 9 August 1573 at the Vrijdagsmarkt at [[Ghent (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Ghent]], Belgium, with two other women.
