Pieter Boudewijns (Boudewyns) was the elder of the Danzig Old Flemish Mennonite congregation at Haarlem 1730-1753, and at Amsterdam 1756-1761. Through his catechism, Onderwijzinge des Christelijken geloofs, volgens de belijdenis der Christenen die men de Oude Vlaamsche Mennoniten noemt (Haarlem, 1743), he attained great influence; it found wide acceptance and was used by the conservative Mennonites long enough to necessitate another printing in 1825 at Sneek. In conservative congregations, e.g., Balk, it was used as late as 1853. He also published Korte schets van de onderwijzinge (Haarlem, 1744).
