Biessovka, a small Mennonite colony in the Russian province of [[Samara Oblast (Russia)|Samara]], settled by emigrants from the [[Alexandertal Mennonite Settlement (Samara Oblast, Russia)|Alexandertal church]] (Altsamara). It was founded in 1890 by the private purchase of an estate of about 1,500 hectares (4,000 acres) and in 1915 numbered 6 farms and families with 35 persons. After 1903 it had its own school. It belonged to the congregation of the mother colony, about 10 miles (16 km) distant.
