Minke Bennema-Feenstra, b. 14 October 1873 at [[Holwerd (Friesland, Netherlands)|Holwerd]], Dutch province of [[Friesland (Netherlands)|Friesland]], of an old Mennonite family, was married to Jan Bennema, a dealer in iron, of [[Groningen (Groningen, Netherlands)|Groningen]]. After his death she took over the management of the business for several years. She had a fervent love for the Mennonite brotherhood and in various ways served the Groningen congregation; among other things, as a member of the church board, and as an active participant in the erection of a rest-home there.
