Pieter Huisinga Bakker, b. 24 March 1713, d. 22 October 1801, married Elisabeth Wagenaar in 1749. He was the son of a Mennonite family and a [[Collegiants|Collegiant]]. An exporter by trade, he was also a poet, writing his <em> Poëzy </em> in three parts (Amsterdam 1773, 1782, 1790). He also translated the writings of John Milton (1608-74).
