Der Deutsche Westen was published as a weekly beginning February 1907, by Henry J. Martens, with H. H. Fast as editor, and was printed by the Mennonite Brethren Publishing House, McPherson, Kansas. It was a six-column publication, 15 x 22 in. and carried mostly information and articles pertaining to the Mennonites in the prairie states and provinces. In 1910, A. L. Schellenberg became the proprietor and editor. Soon after this the paper was discontinued.
