Christelijke Liederen, a Dutch Mennonite hymnbook in two volumes, published at Amsterdam in 1870 by the church board of Amsterdam, and for this reason usually called "Amsterdamsche Bundel."  These two volumes of hymns were introduced to replace the "Groote Bundel" of 1796 and the "Kleine Bundel" of 1791. The Christelijke Liederen were also used in a number of other Mennonite congregations besides Amsterdam. The first volume contains 153 hymns, taken from the Groote Bundel, the Kleine Bundel, and the Uitgezogte Liederen. The second volume has 132 hymns, borrowed from the Reformed Evangelische Gezangen, the Vervolgbundel, and the hymnary of the Lutherans. In 1916 an appendix of another 48 hymns was added, being numbered 133-181. This appendix, published at Amsterdam, contains 18 Psalms from the Dutch Reformed hymnary and 30 classical Christian hymns by Luther, Gustaf Adolf, Paul Gerhard, and Tersteegen.
