Lydia (Leichty) Lehman, born 28 September 1884, died 16 December 1969, was active in the Mennonite Church (MC) as a missionary, editor, and Mennonite Central Committee worker. She married M. C. Lehman in August 1905. They were parents of two daughters and one son.
A missionary in India from 1906-1930, Lydia wrote Gospel Herald articles to inform people of Indian widows, victims of leprosy (Hansen's disease), and Bible women (lay evangelists); to express the pain of boarding school parent-child separation; to request prayer and workers.
Writer of the Booklet of Prayer and a Handbook of Information for Missions and Institutions (MC), Lydia also edited the Missionary Sewing Circle Letter, 1932-1946. As literature secretary of the General Sewing Circle Committee, she wished women to be informed about church work and world conditions and to do systematic Bible study.
