Adriaan Kempe was born about 1710 at Norden, died 1779 at Medemblik, was baptized at Norden, Germany, on 13 February 1729. From 1731-1779 he was preacher of the United Frisian and Waterlander congregation at Medemblik, Dutch province of North Holland. In 1739 he was married to Cornelia Metschaart (Messchaert) of Hoorn. He published Jesus Christus de Paerl en Pronk van 't Geslachte der Menschen and seven other sermons (Medemblik, 1740).
