Barbly Ruff was seized on account of her faith in the district of Knonau in Switzerland in 1643. Because she was pregnant she was chained in her brother-in-law's house. After the birth of her child she escaped, but died soon after in consequence of this mistreatment. She was probably a member of the Mennonite Rupp (Ropp) family.
