Mennofonds, a fund established by the Algemene Doopsgezinde Sociëteit on 5 January 1920 for the purpose of borrowing money from congregations and individuals at a low interest rate and investing it at a higher rate to obtain means for raising the salaries of the ministers. This plan, though the planned amount of one and a half million guilders was not reached, was successful. Klaas Dekker Jzn, a deacon of Zaandam, had suggested the plan. The treasurers of the A.D.S. took charge of the fund. In 1947 the total borrowed amount was redeemed.
