The Johnstown Mennonite School, a church high school located at [[Hollsopple (Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA)|Hollsopple]], [[Pennsylvania (USA)|Pennsylvania]], five miles (eeight km) south of [[Johnstown (Pennsylvania, USA)|Johnstown]], was founded in 1944. It was operated by an in dependent board representing chiefly the (Old) [[Mennonite Church (MC)|Mennonite Church]] congregations of the immediate vicinity. In 1955 it had four teachers, with an enrolment of 39. Operated as a part of the same institution was an eight-grade elementary school with an enrolment of 67, and a total of six teachers, including the high-school staff. Sanford Shetler was principal from the beginning.
