Franz Intzinger, an Anabaptist at Leoben, Styria, Austria, was to be arrested in March 1530, but left the country a week before the order was to be carried out. In 1535 the note is made, "Franz Intzinger has become an Anabaptist, is being sought." He was apparently among the iron-dealers in Leoben at that time. (Archives of the city of Styria, Faszikel 18315; Zeitschrift des hist. Vereins für Steiermark, No. 20, p. 268.)
Intzinger is probably identical with Franz Intzinger of Leiben in Styria, who emigrated from Nikolsburg with other nonresistant Anabaptists in 1528 and was made deacon together with Jakob Mandl, and then preacher at Austerlitz. It is thought that he lived for a time in Linz and baptized there (Wappler, 73, 187 f.). In 1530 complaint was voiced concerning their bookkeeping. The dissatisfaction over his management of church property may have been the cause for his return to his former home.
