Ehrenfeld, near Blyszczyvody, Galicia (then Austrian, now Polish), was a Mennonite settlement established in 1864 through the efforts of the real estate dealer (Güterhändler) Peter Müller and his brother Elder Johann Müller, who bought 3,080 acres of land in Blyszczyvody, four miles east of Zolkiev. The Alte Hof estate was taken over by Johann Müller, while the following settled close together forming the village of Ehrenfeld: Heinrich Müller (born 1842), Johann Linscheid (born 1806), Jakob Brubacher (born 1814), Heinrich Brubacher (born 1846), Peter Ewy (born 1841), Jakob Rupp (born 1833), Jakob Schmidt (born 1841), Johann Schmidt (born 1843), Johann Ewy (born 1828), Daniel Müller (born 1834), Heinrich Müller (born 1845), Jakob Hubin (born 1841), Michael Ewy (born 1839), and Jakob Müller (born 1834). Of these 15 Mennonite families of Ehrenfeld 12 went to America in 1882 and after, forming a part of the Galician Mennonite groups in Minnesota and Kansas. In 1934 only one Mennonite family was living in Ehrenfeld.
