Steffen Van Halteren, an Anabaptist martyr, a native of the Dutch province of Utrecht, was arrested at Haarlem, Holland, in the house of Lambert Duppijns, and beheaded at Haarlem on 2 June 1539, with his brother Jan van Halteren and a few others. He apparently was a follower of David Joris.
