On 11 April 1683, he purchased a tract of 1,000 acres in [[Pennsylvania (USA)|Pennsylvania]], signing a contract with William Penn. He never took possession of the land, however, for he did not immigrate to America. He sold it on 14 January 1686 to Dirk Sipman.
