Jan Pieters (Pietersz) Vleyshouwer, a butcher from Alk­maar, Dutch province of North Holland, participated in the meeting of Anabaptist preachers held at Alkmaar on 19 January 1534, when the question of Münster was discussed, joined the party going to Münster, and later united with the Batenburgers, lodged Anabaptists in Leiden, then joined the David-Jorists, and was finally sentenced to death. He was beheaded on 7 August 1544.
