Ferwerd (Ferwert), a town in the Dutch province of Friesland, where Leenaert Bouwens baptized 65 persons in 1568-1582. Blaupot ten Cate (Friesland, 306) supposes that this large number proves the existence of a congregation at that time, but nothing is known of such a congregation, and it is more likely that the newly baptized joined churches in the neighborhood.
