Tiaert Tyercxzoon, of Dokkum, an Anabaptist martyr, beheaded at Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands, on 8 February 1539, because he was rebaptized and harbored "heretical views" concerning the Mass and the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church.
