Johann Jacob Wolleb, pietistic Reformed minister in Thenniken, canton of Basel, Switzerland, during the first half of the 18th century. He was the author of the remarkable book, Gespräch zwischen einem Pietisten und einem Wiedertäufer (Basel, 1722). In his later years he became an enthusiastic follower of Count Zinzendorf, who visited him in 1740. The Gespräch was written apparently in a missionary spirit, with the hope of winning the Anabaptists (of the Jura area) to the new trend of Pietism.
