Dirk Pieters, a Mennonite preacher, lived at Hoorn, originally a member of the Frisian branch and an elder of the congregation, later apparently joining the Waterlanders. In 1610 he opposed the union of some English Brownists (see Smyth) with the Waterlanders at Amster­dam. He died in 1612.
