Hilleken Jacobs and Anneken, two Anabaptist martyrs, were executed shortly after 17 September 1571, likely at Breda, Dutch province of North Brabant. Hilleken Jacobs, 25 years of age, unmarried, and Anneken, 58 years, wife of Pieter Pietersz, also a Mennonite who, however, escaped, were arrested on 29 August 1571, at Klundert, Dutch province of North Brabant, where they lived. Both were cruelly tortured. Van Braght, who lists a number of Mennonites arrested while holding a meeting at Nieuwvart (Klundert) near Breda in 1572 (this must be 1571) and put to death at Breda, does not name these two martyrs.
