The Hans Reyst-volk were followers of Hans Reist  of the Emmental, the leader of the main body of Swiss Mennonites who refused to follow Ammann in 1693. Hans Reyst-volk were among the Swiss Mennonite immigrants in the Netherlands in the 18th century. The name died out since the group considered itself the main body of Swiss Mennonites, treating the Amish as the separated group. Hence of the two parties at the time of the Amish schism the Reist following continued as the main body.
