Hans (Jan) Corneliszoon (Hans de Ruytere), an Anabaptist martyr, born at Rheden near Arnhem, Dutch province of Gelderland, burned at the stake at Antwerp, Belgium, on 4 January 1577. He was charged with having been rebaptized and delivering addresses. He was thus apparently a preacher. According to the account of van Braght (Martyrs' Mirror) his wife and daughter were executed with him, but Ge'nard did not find them in the records.
