Grootebroek, a village in the Dutch province of North Holland, near Enkhuizen, where there was formerly a Mennonite congregation, of whose history nothing is known. Leenaert Bouwens baptized 18 persons here in 1551-1554 and another 24 in 1563-1565. This presupposes the existence of a congregation at this time. In the 17th century the congregation belonged to the Waterlander branch. It dissolved before 1731, since it is not found in the first Naamlijst (of 1731). Its possessions and stocks were handed over to the North Holland Waterlander Conference or Rijper Sociëteit.
