Schlachtin, a Mennonite settlement in the district of Verkhnedneprovsk in the [[Ekaterinoslav Guberniya (Ukraine)|province of Ekaterinoslav]] (now Dnipropetrovsk), South Russia (present-day [[Ukraine|Ukraine]]), consisting of two villages, [[Grünfeld (Schlachtin Mennonite Settlement, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine)|Grünfeld]] and Steinfeld, established in 1874. The acreage of the settlement was 10,800, on which about 200 families with about 1,000 persons settled. Schlachtin, a Mennonite settlement in the district of Verkhnedneprovsk in the province of Ekaterinoslav (now Dnipropetrovsk), South Russia (present-day Ukraine), consisted of two villages, Grünfeld and Steinfeld, established in 1874. A third village, Hochfeld, was established in 1924-27. The acreage of the settlement was 10,800, on which about 200 families with about 1,000 persons settled. The settlement formed an administrative unit with the Baratov Mennonite settlement and belonged to the Neu-Chortitza Mennonite Church.
