Herr Street Mennonite Church was founded in 1953 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. The church began as a mission station of the Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions & Charities, and became a member of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference and the African American Mennonite Association. It withdrew from the Lancaster Conference on 22 July 2005, and joined the Biblical Mennonite Alliance in February 2006.
Initially the congregation rented the Herr Street building from a Baptist group; it bought the building in the 1960s.
In June 1972 the Herr Street Mennonite Church with Mennonite Disaster Relief helped to coordinate clean-up efforts for the city of Harrisburg following Hurricane Agnes.
In 2019 the leading minister was Melvin Allgyer, Jr. The congregational membership was 15 and the average weekly attendance was 18.
