Johannes Lobach was arrested on 26 February 1717 with Jacob and Willem Grahe and four other Mennonites in Solingen and taken to Düsseldorf, Germany; where they languished in prison for three years, until they were released at the intervention of Holland. The name Lobach was also found in the Mennonite congregation of Kriegsheim in the 17th century. In the 19th century there was in the Krefeld Mennonite Church a respected mercantile family with this name.
