The Donegal Mennonite Fellowship emerged as an extension project of the [[Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship (Dorking, Ontario, Canada)|Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship]]. Woodlawn was overcrowded, so the new building was erected in the hamlet of Donegal, [[Ontario (Canada)|Ontario]], Canada. Approximately 30 families committed themselves to the new congregation. The bishop and one of the ministers transferred to the new congregation; a deacon was ordained for the new group.
