Peter (Pieter) Dirks (Dirczn) Snijder, an Anabaptist martyr, a tailor, beheaded at The Hague, Holland, on 6 November 1539. He had been (re)baptized by Pieter de Houtzager and in 1533 was living at Amsterdam. In March 1534 he joined the Anabaptists who sailed from there enroute to Münster, but was arrested at Bergklooster. He was released upon renouncing his faith, but later, "relapsing into his former error," i.e., being again a member of the Anabaptist congregation, he was arrested a second time and put to death.
