Pieter Vettewarier, an Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake on the market place at Antwerp, Belgium, on 16 December 1558. His name is commemorated in the hymn "Aenhoort Godt, hemelsche Vader" (Hear, O God, heavenly Father), No. 16 of the Lietboecxken.
