Gerrit van Grol (Geert van Grolle), a Dutch Anabaptist, burned at the stake at Antwerp in 1538 (exact date unknown). He was arrested in March 1538 and tried in the same month. His confession reveals interesting particulars about Anabaptism in Amsterdam, especially on the Naaktlopers and the uprising of May 1535. From this confession on 17 April 1538, we learn the difference between peaceful and revolutionary Anabaptism. Gerrit van Grol belonged to the peaceful group. He had been (re)baptized in Amsterdam by Jan Matthysz.
